The Chapel, 304 Dunlevy

HIVE: 11 intimate performances, 1 explosive event

created by Marcus Youssef and Adrienne Wong, with a special cameo for Camyar Chai

A former funeral home. Vancouver's best-known independent theatre companies*. Eleven performance cells cluster around a bar/cafe. In each cell, a short performance installation for audiences of 10 or less. Visit all the cells. Or pick and choose. Drink. Cross-pollinate. You're the Queen Bee.

For Inside/Out audience members were blindfolded and led through the central bar to the embalming room. Once there, we explored the principles of embalming. Primarily, how you get the insides out. Jelly donuts were eviscerated, eggs cracked and friends eulogized in a twelve minute span.
